An alleged plot to blackmail Coleen Rooney are being investigated by Police.

Three people had subjected to the plot to the TV presenter and wife of Manchester United and England star Wayne, 25 and demanded five figure some for handing over private pictures of the couple's baby son Kai.

LONDON (SHARECAST) - Property development and investment firm Development Securities has leased out Manchester’s M.E.N. Arena for 25 years.

The lease has been granted to SMG, the world’s biggest manager and operator of entertainment and public venues. SMG already manages the venue, which is one of the top three arenas in the world based on concert ticket sales. SMG’s previous lease was due to expire in 2015.

In a separate announcement the company announced it has acquired an office property, Airport House, in Croydon, London, for £7.75m from LPA Receivers, who were appointed on behalf of the Bank of Ireland. The purchase price represents an income yield of 5.4%.

The company has appointed a local serviced office operator to run the centre with the aim of re-establishing the building in line with its historic operating performance which would see the income yield rise to over 11%.

A modernisation budget of £600,000 will enable the income to be first rebuilt to pre- existing levels and then exceeded. Bank of Ireland has provided a debt facility to assist in the acquisition.

David Haye defended his WBA heavyweight title in impressive fashion with a ninth-round stoppage against American John Ruiz at Manchester's MEN Arena on Saturday night.

The British champion got off to a flying start to the fight, flooring Ruiz after just 25 seconds but the 38-year-old just managed to make it to the bell and avoid an embarrassing early knock-out.

The resolute veteran was knocked down again in the fifth and sixth rounds before his corner threw in the towel in the ninth.

The bout was a one-sided affair from the opening bell, with Haye winning all but one of the rounds.

The 29-year-old will now hope to secure a unification bout with either Wladimir Klitschko, who currently holds the IBF and WBO belts, or his older brother and WBC champion Vitali.

Speaking after the fight Haye said he felt "really sharp" during the fight and praised the support he received on the night.

"There were a load of fans here. The crowd has been absolutely electric for me. There was a 20,000 capacity here with everyone screaming the 'Hayemaker'," he told the BBC.

"With performances like that I'll keep the fans behind me. I loved the whole occasion."

The victory takes Haye's record to 24 wins – 22 by knock-out – and one defeat. He will now be hoping to improve that yet further and secure his dream fight against one of the Klitschko brothers in November.

The Manchester Evening News Arena or M.E.N. Arena is also called with The M.E.N. or simply Manchester Arena). It is a big indoor arena in Manchester, England. It is at present sponsored by the Manchester Evening News and has a capacity of 3,000–21,000. It was available for pulic in 1995, and was initially sponsored by NYNEX (a British cable television provider, as opposed to the NYNEX Corporation, a telephone service provider in the United States) as the NYNEX Arena. The Arena took its presend name in 1998 after the NYNEX brand name had disappeared as a result of a merger with Mercury Communications in 1997.

The M.E.N. Arena is Europe's biggest indoor arena and music venue. The arena was built to coincide with Manchester's two bids to host the Olympic games in 1996 and 2000 (which were won by Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000).

The M.E.N. Arena was one of the first indoor venues in Europe to be built following the conventionally American arena layout of 360 degree seating and is the only arena in the UK to have this feature (London's O2 Arena has just one tier of seating that is 360 degrees whereas the MEN Arena has two) Other European indoor venues built to the same concept are the Kölnarena in Cologne, O2 arena in Prague, Color Line Arena in Hamburg, and The O2 arena in London, amongst others.
