Khan to fight Paul McCloskey at MEN Arena
The negotiations are on between WBA light-welterweight champ Amir Khan and European titleholder Paul McCloskey to fight with each other April 16 at the MEN Arena in Manchester.
A fight between US prospect Lamont Peterson and Amir Khan was expected to take on each other but the fight fell through after the American demanded a ‘huge figure’ according to Khan.
Lately it was decided that Khan will take on the winner of the forthcoming bout between fellow light-welterweight champions Timothy Bradley and Devon Alexander on January 29, but he would like to be in rhythm to stay busy and give his UK fans the chance to see him on British soil.
'He approached us. He's an undefeated fighter. I'm happy to take the fight on,’ said Khan.
